Mission Statement

The Florida Foreign Trade Association (FFTA) is a nonprofit trade organization incorporated in July 1985. The organization represents the most diverse group of individuals and companies in the foreign trade market.

FFTA provides a forum where information and concepts are freely exchanged.

The mission of FFTA is to serve the international business community by facilitating global exchange through trade missions, networking, education, and innovative trade development programs. FFTA connects Florida with the rest of the world by organizing trade missions outbound and inbound for U.S. businesses to locate, explore opportunities, and interact with peers and foreign buyers/sellers. FFTA also organizes export seminars, exhibits, tradeshows, and networking activities.

The First Pioneer Reunion Award Luncheon of the International Trade Hall of Fame Success Stories directed by the Florida Foreign Trade Association and with the supported of Enterprise Florida, World Trade Center Miami, Miami Air Cargo Association, ABiCC-Association of Bi-national Chamber of Commerce in South Florida, Inc and sponsored by Dante B. Fascell Port of Miami-Dade was very successful over 220 persons in attendance.

It was like a 40-year reunion. The guest speaker, Bernard List, Assistant Port Director, Port of Miami, Gene Rodriguez, Chairman International Trade Hall of Fame -Success Stories, and Ralph Puga, President F.F.T.A. presented the plaques to a group of 18 pioneers selected by the Executive Committee:

Thanks to Richard Armellini the first promotional movie "Come Grow with us via Miami", which was taped in a 35 mm film over 30 years ago, was presented at the event. It was a wonderful time wheret the attendees could see how the seaport and airport of Miami were still in the planning stages at that time and some of the attendees saw themselves in the movie. If your are interested in obtaining a copy of this film, please contact the Florida Foreign Trade Association, they are available upon request and a donation of $ 20.00.

A moment of silence tribute was held for those pioneers that have gone on before us.

The International Trade Hall of Fame - Sucess Stories Executive Committee has selected the next 20 pioneers, which will be honored on the Second Pioneer Reunion Award Luncheon that will be held on Friday, August 25th, 2000 at the 94th. Aero Squadron.
